The Varsity softball team staged an amazing come from behind victory in the state quarterfinal game vs Heritage Mesa and advanced to the state semifinals this Saturday at ASU. Down 7-3 going to the last at bats in the bottom of the 7th, the Warriors battled back to tie the game with one out. With 2 outs and Hannah Coppin on 3rd, Ari Pearson beat out an infield single to score the walk off win. Olivia Gammill pitched a complete game scattering 4 hits but the defense struggled which led to the Heritage runs. Leanna San Miguel kept the Warriors alive early with two 2 run home runs.
The Warriors will now play in the state semifinal game at 11:30 Saturday at ASU Farrington Stadium. The cost to get in is $10 for adults and $5 for students which is good for an all day pass. A semifinal win would put the Warriors in the championship game at 7PM. LETS GO WARRIORS!!!!!!!

In the first game, Olivia Gammill pitched a complete game 2 hit shutout as the Warriors won 15-0. The Warriors played great defense and everyone in the lineup hit the ball. The Lady Warriors won both of their games this week. Wednesday the Warriors beat Sequoia Pathways 16-2 with Ari Pearson pitching an amazing game. Hannah Coppin had a big home run to lead the offense and the defense was outstanding. Thursday the Warriors beat Heritage Mesa 10-9 on a Bottom of the 7th, 2 out walk off single by Olivia Gammill. Down 9-7 entering the 7th, Siennah Serrano started the comeback with a pinch hit triple and Leanna San Miguel tied the game with a 2 run double to set up the wild finish. Shaylee Verdine continues to tear the cover off the ball and just missed a home run hitting the top of the wall in the 1st. Solid hitting by Jessica Kring, Makenzie Lebrun and Nichole Figures helped lead the way. The Warriors sit 7-2 on the season and tied for first place!
