"J-Money" Martos locks down midfield as Warriors smash Florence

WARRIORS: 8
FLORENCE HS: 0

The Warriors smashed Florence Thursday night by a score of 8-0 to remain undefeated in the region and move into second place in the Region.

Diego Diaz (#14) got the scoring started for the Warriors when Jaime Abollado-Zamorano (#11) tackled a player winning the ball and allowing Diaz time to place the ball into the upper 90 of the far post.

Kevin Chacon (#10) had his skill boots on again this game as he dribbled through the defense, all the way to the end line before cutting back and squeezing the ball underneath the keeper into the far post.

Less than two minutes later, Christian Hardenburg (#9 C) play Abollado-Zamorano through the defense on an inch perfect pass to set up the third goal of the night. 45 seconds after that the two would combine again in an almost picture perfect replica of the previous goal giving Abollado his second goal of the night and Hardenburg his second assist.

Three minutes later the Warriors would strike again when Deegan Trollope (#16) made a run up the left wing, and darting into the box, found Ivan Marquez (#22) across the box for the easy tap in goal to make it 5-0 to the Warriors.

Continuing with their assault on goal, four minutes later the Warriors would put in another one when (you guessed it) Abollado put in a sitter from a low cross played in by Noah Jackson (#3) giving the Warriors their 6th goal in the first 20 minutes.

The Warriors then possessed and focused on ball movement for the next 15 minutes before scoring yet again when Chacon received a pass from Abollado and slotted the ball beyond the keeper and into the far post with his left foot taking the Warriors into half leading 7-0.

7 minutes into the second half Isaiah Ramirez (#15) would get on the score sheet when Hardengurg threw the ball in and sent him behind the Florence backline to make the game 8-0. Ramirez outran the FLorence center back, then with his weaker foot pummeled the ball into the lower far post past the keeper.

This would invoke the mercy rule and the game would be called in the 60th minute for the Warriors to get their 4th win of the season and remain undefeated in the region, and unbeaten on their home field.

The Warrior defense played stellar soccer Thursday night. Not allowing a single shot on goal in the first half, and only two in the second.

Justyn “J-Money” Martos was absolutely locked in in the defensive midfield position not allowing any Florence players to get comfortable in the midfield the entire game while also facilitating the offense and allowing Hardenburg and Diaz the freedom to create in the attacking third.

The Warriors next game will be away at Santa Cruz on Tuesday evening before returning home next Thursday to go up against Globe.
