The ALA Ironwood Boys Varsity soccer team tied Benjamin Franklin High School 1-1 at home Thursday night January 21, 2021

The Warriors opened their season in good form after having it delayed several times due to state concerns for the rises in Covid-19 cases. 

Wearing masks for the first time during play the Warriors still came out hot in the first half, pressing, utilizing substitutions, possessing the ball and taking several shots on goal before Kevin Chacon (#10) opened the scoring.

With less than ten minutes left in the first half the Warriors moved the ball up the right wing, passing between Chacon, Christian Hardenburg (#9 c), and Isaiah Ramirez (#15) before Chacon won a corner which Chacon finished with his head assisted by a wonderful backpost cross by Ramirez. 

Benjamin Franklin came out roaring in the second half pressing high up the field and getting one goal back before time expired. 

Elijah Ramirez (#31) played the full 80 minutes in goal coming up with several vital saves to keep the game at 1-1 and save the draw for the Warriors.

The Warriors next game will be at home against Coolidge High school next Thursday the 28th at 6 p.m.
